Through sheer trial and error, I shot hundreds of thousands of images in order to fulfill my mission, of learning where each of these amazing, and powerful Nikon AF modes excel and where they don’t. Then next years of my photography career, were dedicated to learning everything I could about my Nikon’s autofocus modes, settings and camera controls I decided to fix this and become a better photographer! While other times I felt that the AF mode I was in, was definitely not the right one and this was really holding me back. This really hit home with me, especially after a trip to the Chobe River in Botswana, where I missed a once in a lifetime shot (more on that below).Īs I looked through the images of that trip, I remember thinking to myself: “ man, I could have really nailed so many more great shots today, should I have not be fiddling with my camera settings”.
